Where to stay in Marrakech

February 18, 2018 Marrakech, Marrocos

The smallest airplane I have ever been!

How to get to Marrakech
Another adventure started at Lisbon airport when the hostess told us that we couldn’t take the hand luggage with us! So I had to put my computer, cameras and everything else in my backpack! Finally we were on the bus but when it stopped the aircraft was so small that I got butterflies in my stomach! I have never travelled in such a small plane!
Once inside the airplane I just wanted to get out but I don’t know how I managed to control myself and it was an amazing 2 hour flight.
There are direct flights Lisbon/Marrakech
·       1h30 to 2h flight depending on the airplane :)
Be prepared to go through several security control which takes a long time (when departing go at least 3 hours earlier otherwise you will lose your flight) when you pick up your luggage you have to go to security areas again before leaving the airport! This was really the worse part of our trip!
Once in Marrakech Airport take a taxi (they are yellow and easy to get) or book previously a transfer; ask for prices before getting in but it is around €10/€12 to the center.

Where did I stay in Marrakech
Everyone told me to stay in a Riad but as we were 3 and wanted to share a room I chose a Hotel outside the Medina but close to the center.
Mövenpick Mansour Eddahbi, is situated in a very beautiful and modern area with big streets, restaurants and all you need nearby.
The Hotel surprised me for its Luxury and Moroccan details and colors. Check here for more (Marrakech Highlight).
Our room was amazingly big, with a balcony and a beautiful round bath.
From the first night where we had dinner in one of the restaurants I started taking photos and photos! Believe me, next time in Marrakech I will, for sure, stay in the Hotel at least a day just to enjoy and relax.
·           Breakfast till 10h30 (after that they close the door!)
·           Swimpools (main pool heated during winter), Spas, massage, Gym…
·          Moroccan and Mediterranean Restaurants (we had dinner at the latter one)
·          Chocolate hour :) (it was the best!)
·          Bar (so beautiful)
Hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoyed taking them! Be inspired with the magic of the Red Marrakech and stay tuned for the next blog post on the Medina xx.
